George Bush and Dick Cheney must resign. They have said that the economy is in grave danger and that we could be headed for another 1930′s-like depression if the U.S. Congress does not pass a $700 billion bailout bill, but the bill failed because not enough people believe anything the Bush administration says anymore after they misled the country into war in Iraq. They said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but they were wrong. How can anyone know if their dire warnings about the need to pass a $700 billion bailout are credible. Maybe it is just more “faulty intelligence”.

We need a new president now, someone with some credibility and trustworthiness.

Bush and Cheney should recognize that they have failed and that if they remain in office, they are endangering the entire country.

We are the people of Main Street and we need to know if our futures are in danger because of the greed and incompetence of Wall Street, but we can not trust Bush and Cheney to tell the truth.

To save Main Street, Bush and Cheney must resign so that an interim president can address the immediate crisis. The first step would be to figure out if indeed there is a crisis that warrants a $700 billion bailout. We need someone we can trust to level with us.

Right now, we do not even know if the crisis is as dire as Bush and Cheney claim because they have mislead the country before. Why should we believe them now?

An interim president could restore trust between the people and the president, address the immediate crisis and hand off the White House to the next elected president on Jan 20.
